Bike Squad: assemble!

The call went out to Year 5 and 6 – who wanted to join with us on a cycle ride after school to Sandsfoot Castle, where ice cream awaited?

The reply was emphatic – 28 people responded! Bike Squad were ready!

After a short, sharp shower (unfortunately timed to start as soon as we climbed onto our bikes) we set off in a long, long, long line; of course leaving good space between us and the bike in front. After sensibly and safely navigating the crossing over Weymouth Way and the subway by Westham Bridge, we were onto the Rodwell Trail and then, before you knew it, into Sandsfoot Castle gardens in time for a well-earned ice-cream. We got back safely, too. Easy.

What great fun the children were – a pleasure to take out on a ride. We’ll do this again everyone.

Special thanks to the staff who accompanied us – we really couldn’t do the rides without you. Thank you for coming!
