Dotty, dotty, Soapy, soapy!

Who knew art could be so dynamic?!  In the second half of our arts week, we have been looking at different media and have followed the work of Barbara Hepworth to create our own sculptures representing a place in nature which means something to us and how it makes us feel.  We used soap and tools to create shapes, designs and different representations, great resourceful thinking Year 5! Have a look at our pictures below, can you spot some River Wye sculptures?!

We have also followed the life and work of Japanese artist and designer Yayoi Kusama.  She is a revolutionary artist who moved to New York from Japan to follow her dreams.  She uses dots to create still life images of nature and food.  She also creates amazing infinity sculptures of her art work, check out her work online!  Have a look at our dotty pictures below, which is your favourite?

We have really enjoyed the opportunity to flex our creative skills this week and are so proud of our art work.  Well done Year 5!  We hope you have enjoyed the pictures and see some of our amazing work in person at the exhibition later!
