Fire Safety and Portraits

It’s been another busy week in year 2. Earlier in the week we had a guest from Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service come to talk to us about fire safety. We learned lots of important things to help keep us safe.

Yesterday we finished our ‘Marvellous Monarchs’ project by exploring how monarchs have chosen to be portrayed in their portrait paintings. Today, as part of our new art project, ‘Portraits and Poses’, we explored how we can choose to portray ourselves. We all brought props to school that say something about who we are. We then had a go at sketching our buddies in the way they’d like to be portrayed. We explored shape and form as well as colour, texture and pattern.
