Goodbye Year 4!

Goodbye Year 4!

An action-packed final day. The children have had doughnuts for breakfast and we have had a really fun time chilling and reminiscing about what has been a year to remember. Mrs. Wallis, Mrs. Harris and I would also like to say a BIG thank you to everybody that gave generous gifts, said kind messages and handed us cards. We really do appreciate it. Below is a poem which I think summarises our time in Year 4 quite nicely indeed. Have an incredible summer, Year 4! We’ll miss you.

Looking back at this year,

It’s hard to summarise it in a page.

It seems very surreal that,

it has reached its final stage.

These kids have something you cannot teach,

They have improved in concentration, mindset and grit.

They have pushed themselves to the absolute max,

And that’s the end of it.

I’ve watched your children achieve and grow,

And improve day-by-day.

We hope that all the things we’ve done,

Have helped in some small way.

We’ve had a blast at swimming this year,

Doing backstroke, breaststroke, and front crawl.

You all splashed, laughed, and learnt a lot,

you weren’t phased at all.

We also went to WOEC,

Where you took part in tunneling and climbed so high.

In fact, I swear I saw one or two of you,

Touch the clouds up in the sky.

And then of course it was our trip the London,

Where we visited The British Museum, The Globe and London Zoo.

We all had an incredible time,

Despite Logan being locked in the loo.

But let’s not forget our Tempest performance,

Where you delivered an incredible production.

You acted, sang and knocked it out the park,

by following every instruction.

We’ve learnt so much during our topic lessons,

Who can forget Bottoms, Burps and Bile.

Your stories about the digestive system,

were hilarious but rather vile.

I really loved our Sports Day,

We put your resilience to the test.

Seeing you all compete whilst still showing sportsmanship,

Just highlights why you’re the best!

To round off our adventures in style,

We learnt poems and really gave it some welly.

You also learnt some really valuable lessons like

‘Don’t throw jelly at the telly’.

My favourite part this year however,

Is getting to know all of you.

You all mean the world to me,

And I hope you feel the same too.

It’s with real happy memories,

That we’ll send you out the door.

With great hope and expectations,

For what Year 5 will hold in store.

I’m so happy I got to be your teacher,

I’ve come to love you so,

I can’t believe the end is near,

How fast did that time go?

One thing I’ve tried to teach you,

To last your whole life through.

Is to know that you are amazing,

Just because, you are you!

Remember that although I’m no longer your teacher,

You can always come back and see me.

Telling me about your adventures in Year 5,

Would make me as happy as can be.

I hope you enjoy your summer,

The year has reached its end.

Mr. Prior’s class…you are dismissed,

It’s time to drive your parents around the bend!
