Harvest Festival KS2

This afternoon we were treated to an extra special Harvest performance from our KS2 pupils. As we had some ‘special visitors’ this week, it meant that we had not been able to rehearse as much as we would have hoped. But Southill children rose to the challenge as they always do and what they did was amazing.

We heard a story from Year 3 – The Tantrum That Saved the World.

Year 4 performed SOS From the Kids – a plea to all the adults in the world to make changes to halt climate change and save our planet.

Year 5 told us some facts about where food comes from and how we can reduce our carbon footprint by buying local.

Year 6 sang Louis Armstrong’s classic What a Wonderful World.

Rev’d Jo talked to us about how Harvest time is the perfect time to look after those less fortunate than ourselves; something that our Southill citizens are very good at.

Then all the children joined together in a joyful rendition of Harvest Rock and Roll. They raised the roof!

It was an uplifting and exuberant celebration of all there is to be thankful for at Harvest time and a joy to be a part of. Thanks to Rev’d Jo, Matt and the church wardens for hosting and setting out the church for us. Thanks to all the teachers for preparing their classes with thoughtful and relevant performances. Thanks to the parents for supporting us and for the generous donations to the food bank and thanks to all the children for just being so awesome!
