Covid update

This week has not been a completely smooth journey as we have seen a small rise in cases in Year 4, leading us to keep them separate from the other classes for a short while. This seems to have levelled out now, with no new infections for the past few days, so we aim to put everything back to normal for them from Monday.

Unfortunately, I have had to send out letters to parents of children in Year 2 today, and also a small group of KS2 children, recommending they get tested because of recent contact with a positive case in their class. Parents will have received a ping and a paper copy in children’s book bags.

The current state of play is that there are 8 children in total isolating at home after a positive test. These are thankfully low numbers but you will have seen that we are still being asked to avoid large gatherings and mixing the children inside. We hope that restrictions will ease a little more in the new year, but of course there are fears over a new strain of the virus. Who knows what will happen?

Christmas Lunch

Our hot meals supplier, Local Food Links, along with Mrs Hallett and Mrs Newman in the Southill kitchen, will be cooking up a festive feast on Wednesday 15th December. Please order from the Local Food Links website as normal by midnight on Wednesday 8th December if you would like your children to take part.
Alternatively, why not add some Christmassy treats to your child’s lunch box that day? Then we can all join in with the festive fun!

Christmas Jumper Day

As if that wasn’t enough, we would also like to invite our children to wear a Christmas jumper to school on the same day – Wednesday 15th December.

FOSS Christmas Jumper Sale

And finally on the Christmas theme, don’t forget that FOSS are holding a Christmas jumper sale after school on Monday 6th December.

Non-uniform Day

As always, the last day of term (Friday 17th December) is a designated non-uniform day.

Emmanuel Church have asked that we share their Christmas programme with you:

and finally, from Weymouth Swimming Pool
