How much mud is too much mud?!

WOW!!!

What an amazing first week we have had at Forest Schools!

Despite the soggy weather Year One put on their waterproofs and made their way to Tumbledown Woods for ‘the best  (and possibly the muddiest) day ever’!

Our first Forest School session was all about exploring the environment and trying new things. Together we made recipes in the mud kitchen, artwork using mud paint and we even made a den – you can see in the some of the images children transferring the mud from the buckets to the wheelbarrow to support the build!!

Below you can  also see pictures of the children working reciprocally to ‘pull’ Catherine our Forest School leader using a rope. The children loved this activity, and it got us thinking… Do you think it is easier to pull someone when the ground it wet? Why do you think that? Can you pull someone on your own or do you need to work as a group? What happens if half of the group pull one way and the other half pull the opposite way?

I think is is safe to say that we didn’t let the weather dampen our spirits and we can’t wait to see what we will be doing next week!!!!
