London bound for ‘The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe’

London bound for ‘The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe’

Yesterday, 30 very lucky pupils from Years 4, 5 and 6 made their way to London Waterloo. Unlike the Pevensie children, who were being evacuated on the train, we were making our way towards London in order to watch a show…

After disembarking the train, we began our adventure by taking in some of the sights that London had to offer. We were very fortunate with the weather and the children navigated and walked down the streets of London brilliantly, showing real maturity and awareness. We then made our way to the Gillian Lynne Theatre in order to watch the show and WOW…what a show! It really did bring the story to life. The music, the acting, the costumes, the scene changes. Everything added up to make it an experience that the children (and adults) shall never forget.

As the sun began to set over London and the lights began to shimmer across the river Thames, we ventured back to Waterloo in order to board the train and make our way back to Weymouth.

It was such a magical day. A huge thank you to Mrs. Wood for planning such a memorable experience, thank you to Mr. Mason for being a superb tour guide, thank you to parents and grandparents for bringing the children to the station and picking them up and, of course, a huge thank you to the children of Southill for being wonderful.
