Maths Orienteering

Maths Orienteering

The sun was shining across our incredible Southill school grounds as Year 4 ventured up to the top playground in order to participate in ‘Maths Orienteering’. The children buddied up and were given a clipboard containing a map of the school and a piece of paper to solve all of the problems. They were then given a number to find and at that location, there was a maths problem for them to solve. Once they had solved the problem, they needed to dart back to Mrs. Murray and I to check if they were correct. Exercise and maths problems…What could possibly be better!?

It was incredibly fun and it was fantastic seeing the children working reciprocally in order to solve mathematical problems. A special mention to Zeff, Noah, Max and Maxwell who completed over 18 different cards! A truly staggering achievement considering the sun was scorching!
