Musical Moments and a Big Shouting Day with Rainbow Fish 1

Another fun week with the Rainbow Fish 1 group, where do these weeks go? I guess time really does fly when you’re having fun.  Thanks everybody for your enthusiasm, teamwork and super BLP skills which have all contributed to your success.

This week, alongside our many varied tasks presented by BBC Bitesize each day, we’ve also got a little musical!  Firstly, we made our own drums – a fairly easy task with a fairly (or massively) impressive result!  We all enjoyed following set rhythms and also composing some of our own.  This resulted of course in a mini concert which included several marches around the classroom.  Great fun!  We also experimented with glasses filled with different liquids and measures, discovering the variation of sounds that they made and having fun with the different notes.  This was a “fantastically fascinating” task, according to some (handy, as we’ve also been looking at alliteration too)!

On Thursday we read one of our favourite stories My Big Shouting Day by Rebecca Patterson. It always makes us giggle, which is a great start to the day.  By the end of the day Rebecca herself had liked our photo on Twitter, which really made us smile.  Luckily it wasn’t a big shouting day at all for us.

We’ve made great use of time outdoors in the sunshine again, one of our favourite places to play is the KS2 playground on the trim trail.  Most of us will be moving up to KS2 in September so this is really exciting.

Here are some photos for you to enjoy, have a great weekend everybody!
