National Reading Champions

National Reading Champions

Today, 8 children were chosen to represent Southill in the National Reading Championships. The two teams battled it out with other schools across the nation in order to answer all sorts of questions based around books!

It’s safe to say that some of the rounds were extremely difficult! In fact, we were one of the youngest teams competing as the competition age bracket ranged from 11-16 year olds. Nevertheless, the knowledge, determination and team work that the two teams demonstrated was truly staggering!

One of our teams in fact finished 3rd place which is a remarkable achievement. Both teams have been given certificates for participation, a book mark is on its way and we will find out what prize we will receive for finishing 3rd in due course…

We are so extremely proud of these children. Their knowledge of books was breathtaking and they represented Southill admirably.

Bravo!
