Primary Leadership Academy

Today, eight children were selected in order to become ‘Sports Ambassadors’ for Southill. The idea of the workshop was to develop their leadership skills. They participated in a range of games and thought-provoking activities that they can then bring back to school and share with their peers. Every activity aimed to help the children:

  1. To increase participation and healthy lifestyles in school.

  2. To promote the positive values of sport in and through sport.

  3. To be an ambassador and role model advocating PE and school sport.

  4. To be the young people’s voice on PE and school sport in their school.

Mrs Harris and Mr. Prior will be working very closely with the ambassadors in order to set up some very exciting activities at break and lunchtimes.

For their efforts, the children were also given a t-shirt (who doesn’t love a free t-shirt). I’m sure that that children will take great pride in wearing these! Mrs Harris also informed me that a number of workshop leaders applauded Southill for their attitude, effort and teamwork qualities. Apparently ‘Southill pupils are a joy to teach!’

Well done Sports Ambassadors! You represented the school valiantly.
