Rosie Revere, Engineer

Rosie Revere, Engineer

During Book Talk today, we began looking at a cracking story called ‘Rosie Revere, Engineer’. The story is all about a girl who LOVES creating all sorts of gizmos and gadgets, however after her confidence takes a turn for the worst, so do her inventions. After having a chat about the book, the children had a go at answering the following questions:

1)What does the word shy mean?

2)Why does Rosie hide all of her inventions under her bed?

3)Describe great-great Aunt Rose in two words. Explain your choices

4)Do you think Rosie failed when her cheese-copter crashed? Explain your answer

5)What do you think is the moral to the story?

The children are being encouraged to use evidence from the text to support their answers. They are also expected to answer the questions in a perfectly constructed sentence. I’m sure we learnt a great deal from Rosie Revere today and the importance of being proud of who you are, even if you encounter setbacks on the way…
