Signs of Spring

This week we have enjoyed reading the story of Spike’s Best Nest, by Tony Maddox. We used different materials to create nests for our own birds. We used feathers, twigs, sticks, leaves and pompoms.

We have also made craft birds from paper plates, watched birds on webcams, watched birds on our feeders and enjoyed listening to birds singing outside.

For one of our Stormbreak sessions we found our favourite trees. We touched them and looked closely at them. We finished by giving them a hug.

On Thursday afternoon we went on a spring walk where we were nature detectives, looking for signs of spring. We took colour cards with us to match our findings to different colours.

We found leaf buds, daisies, bluebells, tulips, daffodils, primroses, blossom and so much more. We were great detectives.
