Southill Scientists

The week started off with Science day!  As well as conducting a science experiment in class, to see how cargo should be spread across a ship in order to hold as much cargo as it could, year two also visited the Reception and Year one teachers.  They tested how many tastebuds they had by dyeing their tongue blue and counting how many they could see and whether or not they were a super taster.  With Mrs Puddick , the Reception teacher, they went for a colour walk outside to see if they could find a rainbow.  They used a colour wheel to help them match colours.  They found that blue and black were hard colours to find at this time of the year, but as the seasons change the colours will change too.  Two of the children from our class were inspired by both nature and the cargo ships and at playtime created a ship from leaves and twigs.
