Stormbreak Superstars!

Our Stormbreak focus this week was ‘Relationships’. We started off by having a brilliant discussion about the importance of relationships with our family, friends, teachers and even our pets! The children also talked about how respect, kindness and empathy is really important in relationships.

Our first Stormbreak of the week was ‘The Feeling Photo’ where the children were given different questions about how they might feel in a given scenario e.g. ‘How would you feel if your friend suddenly didn’t want to play with you?’ and ‘How would you feel if your teacher praised you for your hard work?’. The children then froze in a ‘feeling photo’ to show how it would make them feel and also came up with feelings such as ‘determined’, ‘motivated’ and ‘resilient’.

For our second Stormbreak of the week we transformed into ‘Classroom Rockstars’. The children rocked out to some music in small groups and became singers, drummers, guitarists, pianists and even violinists! The purpose of this activity was to think about their relationships with their peers and how to listen, take turns and communicate in group activities….they absolutely smashed it!
