The Day the Crayons Quit…

The Day the Crayons Quit...

As we know, reading can inspire writing and that is exactly what has happened in Year 4. After sharing the infamous story ‘The Day the Crayons Quit’, it gave us an idea for a piece of letter writing…

Looking after stationery in Year 4 isn’t something that the children find easy. With the frantic pace of learning and day-to-day life in a school, it’s easy for a glue lid to go missing, a pencil to be broken or a rubber to be pinged across the room. We therefore started to consider how these items might feel about the way they were being treated.

I must say, the creativity in their writing was a joy to behold. It’s very rewarding seeing children immersed in their learning and, I’m sure you’ll agree, they have written some very creative letters! See for yourself below.

I’ve also attached the story in case you would like to listen to it again.

Well done, Year 4. Have a great weekend!
