Warp and Weft has been UNBEWEAVABLE!

Warp and Weft has been UNBEWEAVABLE!

In Year 4, Mrs. Aitken has been teaching the children all about how weaving has changed over history. They started with the earliest evidence of weaving being found in Ancient Egypt all the way through to the mechanisation of weaving in the industrial revolution of the Victorian period.

The children have learnt that the loom threads are called warp and the threads woven through them are called weft.

Today, the children made the finishing touches to their own mini-looms and have enjoyed creating a wall hanging featuring different coloured and textured yarns.
