What a fantastic first week back at school we have had in Year 1.
We have a had a great time seeing all of our friends again and welcoming our 3 new classmates. Yes, there have been lots of new routines to get used to and of course lots of hand washing but we haven’t let these things stop us from having a great time.
You can see some of us using our new phonics packs in the pictures below. We have been recapping sounds taught in reception and focusing on our blending to make sure it is accurate. New reading books have been sent home this week – please remember to read daily. A few pages is enough, little and often is best.
We have also spent lots of time this week following the Jigsaw PSHE programme. We have been creating our class charter, talking about how we behave both in the classroom and outside and thinking about how we learn best and how to be a brilliant learning buddy.
Next week we will be starting our Splendid Skies topic.
Well done Year 1 – you’ve been amazing!
