When Year 2 visited Year 3…

Wow – what a wonderful afternoon we had!ย The almost Year 3s ventured through the door from Year 2, in to what will be their new classroom from September. This afternoon was an opportunity for them to find out about all the exciting new things they will be getting up to in their new year group.

The children got super creative, whilst listening to some calming music, and created their own paper version of themselves using glue, buttons, pipe cleaners and even sharpies! These will be displayed outside the entrance to our classroom at the start of the school year.ย  They also made their own ‘All About Me’ bunting which was a great way for us to find out about the children’s different hobbies and interests! This will also be displayed in our classroom upon their return in September. Well done, Year 2!

The children then had a tour of the cloakrooms, toilets and the new entrance they will go through in the mornings and we even managed to squeeze in a quick Stormbreak session! To finish we had a quick question time about what it’s like in Year 3 and the children were also introduced to their first History Project in Year 3,ย  ‘Through the Ages’ and even had a sneak peak at the location of our first school trip of the year (to Stonehenge)! We can’t wait!

It was a real pleasure having Year 2 visit us yesterday and we are very much looking forward to welcoming you back into the classroom (as real Year 3s) in September.

Have a wonderful summer, Year 2!
