Good news from HMS Victory where Year 6 have impressed Vice-Admiral Nelson so much that they’ve been promoted! No longer will they be lowly powder monkeys carrying bags of gunpowder to the gun crews ( a decidedly dangerous occupation); instead they will be sending messages to the other ships in the fleet using a system called semaphore. Let’s just hope they can get the hang of it before the Battle of Trafalgar – we wouldn’t want the French and Spanish to win this time would we?!
