Bike Squad ride to Sandsfoot Castle

As part of our Sustrans Big Walk and Wheel fortnight (keep going everyone!) our Year 5/6 Bike Squad made the most of a milder evening by cycling to Sandsfoot Castle after school.  Being a healthy school, of course, this is an activity that we like to enjoy as much as we can – but also a really great opportunity during this competition period to promote a healthier lifestyle with physical activity.  It was very much welcomed after colder, winter weather and a sign of springtime ahead!

We are incredibly lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the world, able to take in the scenery that our Dorset coast has to offer.  Our cycle paths help to make experiences like these much easier, it’s really great to be connected to so many spaces which we can enjoy both by foot and on wheels.  The temptation of an ice cream however was a little too much as we reached our destination in style.  And so, we gave in.  I’m sure you’ll probably agree though that we did deserve it, on this occasion …

Keep up the excellent effort everyone, it was a pleasure to cycle with you all today.  Super navigating, adhering to safety and respecting other users along the route – all with a super Southill team spirit too.
