This week during our topic lesson, Movers and Shakers, the children created ships. We studied the ships that Christopher Columbus sailed on when he discovered the Americas. The children thought carefully about which materials would be suitable to make the ship, the masts and the sails. We looked at photos of Christopher Columbus’ ships to help us draw and label a diagram. The children loved discussing and comparing materials, and designing their sails. Well done, Year 2!
