Class Two Back Together Again

What a great week – we are so happy to be all back together again at school!

The children are all so happy to be back with their friends and have made a great start settling back into the routines of school this week.  We are so proud of each and every one of the children for their resilience and positive attitudes.

Our maths learning continues with learning about the features of 2D shapes; identifying sides, vertices and lines of symmetry – all great new words and concepts for the children to master.  Perhaps they could have a go at making symmetrical butterfly pictures this weekend?  Or looking for lines of symmetry in shapes around the house?

In English we have just started learning our new text ‘Weymouth Water Dragons’ the text map is coming home today so please help your child learn to this.  The more confident they are at ‘reading’ it from the text map the better they will cope with the writing tasks to come.

Our new topic ‘Coastlines’ is proving popular with lots of discussions of coastal towns.

And this week we have started our new ‘Stormbreak’ sessions – helping children to manage their emotions through activities that calm the mind and body.

Here are a few pictures of us in action this week (and some photos from last Friday when the children in school celebrated the final day of lockdown school with a firepit and marshmallows.  This went so well we are now hoping to repeat the experience for the whole class at the end of the summer term if Covid rules allow us to)

Have a great weekend everyone!
