How to Catch a Star

As part of our new topic, sparkles and celebrations, we have enjoyed sharing this beautiful story.

We have made rockets and spaceships to get to the star, explored space-themed small world play, created with sparkles and stars and drawn characters and ideas from the story.

We painted our own poppy pictures, based on artwork by Georgia O’Keeffe, for remembrance day. We watched ‘poppies’ on CBeebies to help us learn more about this.

Congratulations to everyone for adapting so well to some of our teaching taking place online. This week we have experienced daily phonics teaching online as well as stories and talk time. Well done Reception.

George has had another fantastic week so thank you Mrs Puddick, Mrs Kench, Mrs Cottingham and Mr Mason for making the new arrangements work so well.
He’s so enthusiastic about the learning he’s been doing. We’ve heard about the rocket he made with shapes, how he’s been seeing Mrs Puddick on the big screen (we heard all about the biscuit!) and about the new sounds and actions each day. Brilliant!
