It’s Time for SCIENCE!

After primarily focusing on history last half term with our Invasion topic, we were very excited to begin our new science unit entitled ‘Food and the Digestive System’. This unit focuses on our teeth and also the vital organs in our body that help us to digest our food.

Today, we started to learn about important scientific vocabulary that will be covered in the topic. Here are just some of the words that we looked at:

-Herbivores

-Carnivores

-Omnivores

-Predators

-Prey

-Producers

-Consumers

-Hygiene

By recapping this key vocabulary, it will help us when not only looking at the way our teeth and digestive system function, but also how animals are able to eat, chew, swallow and digest food.
