Land of Hope and Glory!

Land of Hope and Glory!

As we approach the end of this glorious topic, we are also reaching the end of World War Two! The children today channelled their inner Churchill as they learnt all about the power of a passionate speech. We looked at the importance of repetition, powerful verbs/adjectives and rhetorical questions in order to make a speech more memorable. To mark the end of World War Two and the unconditional surrender of Germany, the children were tasked to address the nation and thank the people of Britain for their services to king and country!

I am so proud of the speeches that the the children have produced. I have still got plenty to upload and edit, however for the meantime, please enjoy just a small selection of the speeches we managed to film today…

Well done, Year 6!
