Remembrance Day

This morning, Year 6 took part in a live online Remembrance Assembly run by the National Literacy Trust to teach us why we take part in Remembrance. In the assembly, we learnt about the different ways people pay their respects to those who have fought in the war. During the assembly, we learnt about various war artists, and looked at some of their artwork, as well as listening to some war poetry and learning about the Royal British Legion charity. The assembly ended at 11 o’clock where the class participated in a 2 minute silence.

Year 6 have also been raising money this week for the Poppy Appeal by selling poppies to the rest of the school.
