The Third and Final Day at St Ives

The Third and Final Day at St Ives

COWABUNGA!

What. A. Day! This morning, we went for a lovely walk around St Ives; taking in the sights and reminiscing about the experiences we’ve had so far. We then slipped into our swimming costumes ready for surfing! The children soon found out that slipping into wetsuits on the other hand proved to be a little more difficult…

There’s no denying however that surfing has been the highlight of the entire trip so far! The children listened to the instructors intently before heading out to catch a wave. I was mightily impressed with the super surfers we have at Southill. They conducted themselves brilliantly and many of the children are desperate to go surfing again!

Feeling rather exhausted after riding so many waves, we then treated the children to a delicious Cornish ice cream. They were allowed to choose their flavour and toppings too! From mint chocolate chip to raspberry ripple, peanut butter to bubblegum, the children devoured them and saved some around their lips for later.

After a swift shower, the children then had a hearty dinner of burger and chips followed by chocolate rocky road – YUM! We then listened to one of the locals called Danny talk about the importance of beach cleaning and how it can help animals and the environment. It was very impressive seeing the children collecting rubbish on the beach in order to pay our respects to the beautiful St Ives.

To finish our final day in style, we had a game of beach rounders, yet another game of volleyball and a nice hot chocolate before bed.
