We Will Remember Them…

On the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month, Southill paid tribute to all those who fought, lost their lives and were affected in any way during World War One and World War Two by taking part in a 2-minute silence.

The children showed maturity and reflectiveness during this time, particularly Year 6 after learning all about the two wars during topic lessons. Reception have also been busy painting poppies and learning about Remembrance Day.

Whatever happens, wherever we may be, Southill will remember them.

  1. Lovely to see everybody thinking about all of the soldiers who died in the tragic war.

  2. It’s so sad how many people died 🙁

  3. Its so tragic how many people died in the war but very interesting to learn about. To be honest I enjoy the silence because its not often the only thing you can hear is the tranquil breeze in the trees.

  4. I used the time to think about what my great grandad did in the war before he died
