Weird, Wild and Wonderful fun with James Carter

We had such a blast with the poet James Carter today. He visited for the whole day and worked with all classes. First we were treated to a musical and very funny performance of his poetry. Throughout the day James worked with all children to help them create different types of poems – from cinquains to kennings. The children enjoyed the day and were proud of their writing. We were able to enjoy some amazing poems in an assembly at the end of the day. James was impressed with the vocabulary and creativity of Southill pupils. He could see that we are a community of readers. Well done everyone!
