A wonderful first full week!

This week the children have done a brilliant job of settling in to their new routines.  Many of the have been given responsibilities around the class such as book monitor or computer monitor and have taken their new role very seriously.  We have begun the week with the wonderful text 'The First Drawing' a fictional book about a boy living in the Stone Age.  It links with our history topic - Stone Age to Iron Age and the children seem to love extending their knowledge from what they learnt from year 2.

In maths we have started our Place Value unit and the children have been using base ten equipment to consolidate their learning. 

The children are also starting to complete quizzes on the books they have read and are excited to see their scores after answering some comprehension questions.
