Southill is a school where we belong. We are the pupils, the staff and the community around us.

We inspire children to enjoy learning, believe in themselves and aim high. We help them develop the knowledge, skills and character they need to thrive, contribute positively to the world around them and take their next steps with confidence.

These values are woven through school life and our curriculum. We help children understand their rights and responsibilities, listen respectfully to different viewpoints, make informed choices and recognise that everyone should be treated fairly and with dignity.

Democracy

Children learn that their voices matter. Through our School Parliament, pupil leadership opportunities, class discussions and pupil voice activities, they experience how decisions can be made collectively. They are encouraged to express their views, listen to others and understand how democracy works in modern Britain.

The rule of law

Children learn why rules and laws are important in keeping people safe and protecting their rights. Our school expectations are clear and consistently applied, helping children understand the difference between right and wrong, take responsibility for their actions and recognise that choices have consequences.

Individual liberty

We provide a safe and supportive environment in which children can develop confidence, independence and self-belief. They are encouraged to make appropriate choices, express themselves respectfully, pursue their interests and understand how to exercise their freedoms safely and responsibly.
