Building Big Dreams with a Real-Life Architect

Year 1 were super lucky today to have a very special visitor - a real-life architect! As part of our learning, we have been studying the book Iggy Peck, Architect, so it was incredibly exciting to see this job come to life right before our eyes.

Tim very kindly visited us and delivered a fantastic presentation all about what architecture is (and what it isn’t!). The children were fascinated to learn that architecture isn’t just about buildings - it can also include cruise ships, famous landmarks like the London Eye, and so much more. This really opened our eyes to how creative the world of architecture can be!

The talk was truly inspiring, and some of the children even said that they now want to be architects when they grow up! Tim also shared examples of his own architecture projects, and they were absolutely amazing. Some of them looked like places we’d love to go on holiday to - very impressive indeed!

A huge thank you to Tim for taking the time to visit us, answer our questions, and bring architecture to life in such an exciting way. We had a brilliant morning!
