Thank you so much to everyone who joined us for our Macmillan Coffee Morning today – it was wonderful to see so many of you there! Your generosity and support make a real difference. A special thank you goes to Shelley for organising the event so brilliantly.

Cancer touches the lives of so many families, and Macmillan does incredible work supporting people through some of their toughest moments. I’m personally celebrating 5 years cancer-free this year, and I can honestly say Macmillan’s help was invaluable to me. Thank you for helping us give back to such an important cause.

Quick Reminders

  • Contacting Me:

Coming Up: Diversity Week!

Next week, we’re excited to launch a whole week of activities celebrating identity, belonging and what makes each of us unique at Southill Primary School.

Here’s what’s happening:

  • Monday afternoon:
The Mental Health Support Team will be holding an assembly about celebrating our differences.
  • Tuesday morning:
We welcome back Mel Lane, who will lead an assembly all about identity and what makes us who we are. Mel is a familiar face at Southill and works across Dorset supporting children of all ages.
  • Wednesday – ‘This is Me’ Day:
Children and staff are encouraged to wear something that shows off their identity or interests. This could be a club uniform (like Cubs or a sports team), something linked to a favourite hobby, traditional dress, or simply something that makes your child feel proud to be themselves.
This isn’t just a non-uniform day - it’s a chance for everyone to celebrate the wonderful diversity in our school community.

Please be assured:
All assemblies and activities are age-appropriate and support our commitment to teaching respect, acceptance and belonging. All sessions are designed to boost children’s wellbeing and help everyone feel proud of who they are.

Thank you for everything you do to make Southill Primary a place where everyone belongs and every child is celebrated.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
