Last half term, during our chromatic art project, we explored the captivating and abstract artwork of Noor Bahjat. We learnt about her inspirations and how she uses a vibrant range of colours and dynamic angles to create striking compositions, particularly in her self-portraits. Taking inspiration from her distinctive style, we began developing our own collage techniques. We explored proportions and discussed how layering paper can create depth and visual impact. To complete our pieces, we used black pen to emphasise facial features and added gentle washes of watercolour to enhance the background. I was truly impressed with the finished artwork. The children absolutely loved the project and were incredibly proud to see how their effort and persistence resulted in such stunning creations.
