Hi everyone, and welcome back to the second half of spring term! We have officially passed the halfway point in the year – it is going by so fast!
TEP Survey and Parent - Your feedback really matters
You should have received our TEP (The Engagement Platform) parent survey recently. Please take a few minutes to complete it – your honest feedback is invaluable to us. It helps us understand what's working well at Southill Primary and, just as importantly, where we need to improve. Every response makes a difference in shaping our school community.
We only had one response about the parent forum, so we've decided to postpone it until we have your survey results. That way, we can have a really focused discussion about the things that matter most to you. We'll let you know the new date as soon as we can.
Book Week is coming!
Next week is Book Week – always a highlight at Southill Primary. We're very excited to welcome poet Alex Wharton into school on Thursday. https://alexwhartonpoet.co.uk/
Thursday is World Book Day and children can dress up if they wish. We've kept it flexible so everyone can join in:
- Dress as a book character
- Wear something comfy to read in (pyjamas welcome!)
- Wear school uniform
The goal is inclusivity – no pressure, just celebrating our love of books together.
Throughout the week we'll be:
- Having a daily Drop Everything and Read (DEAR) time – so please make sure your child brings their reading book to school every day
- Giving every child a World Book Day voucher to choose their own book - we already have the books here
- Having a buddy reading session where older children pair up with younger children to share a book together
These activities are simple but help build our reading culture without disrupting learning time.
Looking forward to celebrating books with you all!
Have a wonderful weekend.
Caroline
