Y6: Therapeutic activities to aid learning!

This week in Year 6 we’ve had a lot of fun with our Stormbreak activities, which help us look after our wellbeing and remind us how important it is to take time to pause and reflect. One of our favourites has been "Classroom Rockstars," where we celebrate each other’s strengths, positivity and resilience. The focus on hope and optimism has encouraged us to recognise how we can lift each other up, stay positive in tricky moments and keep believing in ourselves. These sessions always bring plenty of smiles, laughter and teamwork, helping us to feel calm, connected and ready to take on new challenges.

The class also meet their Reception buddies once per week. Spending time with their buddies is a real highlight for Year 6. It gives them the chance to be positive role models, show kindness and build real friendships across the school. They love helping them with reading, games and creative activities while learning patience, responsibility and empathy. It’s a special time that reminds us how important it is to support others and be part of a caring school community. On Friday, they all got together in the hall to make firework paintings with paint blowing, and had so much messy fun along the way!

Well done Year 6, I hope you're feeling refreshed and excited about a new week of learning.
