Celebration Assembly

Year 1 Wellbeing Reporters Share Their Work

Our Year 1 wellbeing reporters took centre stage to tell us about their important work on developing relationships this week. They've been learning about the fundamental building blocks of positive relationships, including how to take turns, treat each other with kindness, consideration and respect, and understanding the importance of honesty and truthfulness.

The children spoke confidently about their learning and demonstrated a real understanding of what makes a good friend. They shared how they've been developing skills for creating caring, kind friendships and learning that healthy friendships are positive and welcoming towards others.

As part of their presentation, the wellbeing reporters chose their 'stormbreaker' – a special recognition for someone who has shown outstanding friendship skills and helped others feel included and valued.

Celebrating Our Amazing Readers

We also took time to celebrate our amazing readers across the school. Reading is at the heart of everything we do at Southill Primary, and it was wonderful to recognise children who have shown dedication, enthusiasm and progress in their reading journey.

We're proud to be building a strong culture of reading across our school, shown by our pupils' confidence in and enjoyment of reading, which sets them up to be lifelong readers.

Well done to all our children for their hard work and achievements. These celebration assemblies are such an important part of our school life, allowing us to recognise effort, progress and the positive values our children demonstrate every day.
