A Week to Remember: Sports Week 2026

My favourite week of the year has come to an end, and what a fantastic week it has been!

Sports Week provides a wonderful opportunity for children to compete, represent their house teams and, most importantly, have fun together in the glorious sunshine. Every sports afternoon this week was filled with energy, determination and team spirit. The children gave their all in every event as they competed for the prestigious Southill Sports Day Cup.

Once all the events had been completed, personal awards presented and the scores carefully counted and verified, the results were announced:

🏆 Key Stage 1 Champions:  Pegasus

🏆 Years 3 & 4 Champions:   Dragon

🏆 Years 5 & 6 Champions:  Pegasus

Congratulations to all of our winning teams and well done to every child who took part. Whether competing on the track, field or in team events, the effort, enthusiasm and sportsmanship on display throughout the week were outstanding.

There are also many people to thank for helping to make Sports Week such a success.

Firstly, a huge thank you to all the parents, grandparents and carers who came along to support the children in the scorching sunshine. The atmosphere you created was incredible. Your cheers and encouragement helped children find that extra bit of determination to reach the finish line, throw a little further and give their very best for their team.

A special thank you also goes to Mr Frampton for capturing so many fantastic photographs and videos, helping us preserve memories of a truly wonderful week.

Finally, a HUGE thank you to all of the Southill staff. Without their organisation, support and supervision, Sports Week simply would not be possible. Their hard work behind the scenes ensures that every child has the opportunity to enjoy such a memorable experience.
