This week, we have been developing our comprehension skills through our text First Man on the Moon. 🌕🚀
We began by exploring key vocabulary from the text, discussing the meaning of unfamiliar words and using them in context. We then developed our oracy skills through a hot-seating activity, taking on the role of an astronaut and answering questions about the experience of travelling to and walking on the Moon.
New Year 5 - Man on the Moon
To bring all of our learning together, we created First Man on the Moon posters. Our challenge was to decide which information from the text was the most important to include. We selected key facts, organised our ideas clearly and presented them in an engaging way.
This was a great opportunity to show that good readers don't just find information – they can identify the key information and summarise what they have learned.
