First Week Complete!

What a wonderful first few days back we have had at Southill! It has been lovely to welcome the children into school and see them settling so happily into their new classes. Thank you to all our families for helping to make the start of the new school year so positive.

A particularly warm welcome goes to our new Reception children and their families. Starting school is such a special milestone, and we have been incredibly proud of how bravely and confidently the children have begun their Southill journey. We know it can be a big step for parents and carers too, so thank you for your trust and support during these important first days.

For your information, the children’s PE days are:

• Monday – Year 2

• Tuesday – EYFS and Year 5

• Wednesday – Year 1 and Year 4

• Thursday – Year 3

• Friday – Year 6

Children should come to school wearing their correct PE kit on their allocated PE day. A reminder that children should not wear earrings for PE for health and safety reasons. Please help your child remove earrings before school if they are unable to do so themselves. 

Next week, you will receive a curriculum newsletter outlining what your child will be learning this term. There will also be an opportunity for parents and carers to meet their child’s new teacher. These will take place in the week beginning 14th- we will confirm the dates and arrangements for these sessions next week.
