PE - controlling balls
Reception PE: Shapes, Homes and Resilience ⭐
This week in PE, the children have been exploring how they can use their bodies to make different shapes. We linked our movements to our learning about houses, homes, friends and families, which made for lots of fun and imaginative learning!
We explored a tucked-up shape and imagined ourselves as a cosy bungalow, a star shape to represent a house, and a tall, slender shape to show a block of flats. The children were fantastic at using their imaginations and controlling their bodies to create each shape.
We then moved on to some ball-control skills. We pretended that our ball was our pet dog, and our challenge was to take our dog for a walk while keeping it close to us! 🐶⚽ The children worked hard to control the ball carefully and showed fantastic concentration as they practised.
I was particularly impressed by the persistence and resilience shown by everyone. The children kept trying, even when something was tricky, and showed us all just how much they are like Captain Shelby with their resilient attitudes and determination.
🌟 Well done, Reception! You were fantastic! 🌟
