Preparing for New Beginnings
Last week, we enjoyed trialling our new classroom and becoming familiar with our new learning environment. It was an exciting opportunity to explore the space and begin thinking positively about the transition ahead.
Together, we discussed how we would like our new classroom to feel and what we can all do to create a positive, welcoming and happy place to learn. We also thought carefully about how we can prepare ourselves for this change while continuing to follow our school rules: Ready, Respectful and Safe.
We enjoyed taking part in a range of games and activities that helped us to deepen our understanding of one another and strengthen our relationships as a class. These activities encouraged us to listen, communicate, work together and celebrate the unique qualities that each person brings to our classroom community.
We also took time to reflect on everything we have achieved during Year 4. We thought about the knowledge, skills and positive learning habits we have developed and considered how these will support us as we move into Year 5. The children shared thoughtful ideas about their achievements and recognised how qualities such as resilience, independence, teamwork and perseverance will help them to embrace new challenges.
Looking ahead, we discussed how we can continue to build on these skills as we move forward, setting ourselves new goals and approaching Year 5 with confidence and enthusiasm. By being Ready to learn, Respectful of others and Safe in our choices, we can work together to create a classroom where everyone feels valued, supported and able to achieve their best.
We are incredibly excited about the journey ahead and look forward to all the new learning, challenges and successes that Year 5 will bring!
