Reading Wizards in Reception!

Our Reception children have truly transformed into Reading Wizards! It’s been wonderful to see their confidence and enthusiasm grow as they make astonishing progress with their reading. The children are now recognising digraphs and trigraphs within words — a key skill that helps them decode text more fluently and accurately.

Their enjoyment of reading shines every day, whether they’re exploring a new storybook or revisiting a familiar favourite. Even more impressive is their commitment to the reading routine — they approach each session with focus, excitement, and a genuine love of learning.

Recently, our Reading Wizards have also been showcasing their skills to their Year 6 buddies, who have been mega impressed by how confidently and clearly they can read. It’s been a lovely opportunity for the older children to see just how far our youngest readers have come — and for Reception to proudly share what they’ve achieved!

The magic of reading is truly coming alive in Reception!
