What a Wonderful First Week in Reception!

What an amazing first week we have had in Reception!  We are so incredibly proud of how well the children have settled into school life and all the wonderful learning they have already done.

We have been busy learning all about our new routines, including how to tidy up, get ready and walk sensibly in a line. These may seem like small things, but they are such important skills for becoming confident and independent members of our school community.

We have also enjoyed our first lunches together in the hall. The children have been learning how to use their cutlery, make choices and enjoy lunchtime with their friends. It has been lovely to see their independence growing already!

There has been lots of fantastic teamwork too. Our parachute activities were a particular highlight, with the children working together, listening carefully and having lots of fun. We have also had plenty of opportunities to solve problems with our new friends, encouraging one another and thinking carefully about how we can work things out together.

Of course, we have also made time to slow down and admire the wonderful nature around us. We have been noticing what we can see, hear and discover in our surroundings and beginning to develop our curiosity about the world around us. 

It has been a very special first week, filled with smiles, new friendships, lots of learning and plenty of proud moments. The children have been fantastic, and we cannot wait to see what they achieve next!
