Summer Sports Club – Benchball Bonanza

This week, we headed outside in the scorching sunshine for a firm favourite… benchball! The aim of the game is to eliminate the opposing team by hitting them directly with a soft ball. Unlike dodgeball, once you are out you move to a bench behind the opposing team. From there, if a teammate successfully throws the ball to you and you catch it, you can rejoin the game and get straight back into the action.

After a quick warm-up to develop hand-eye coordination, refine throwing technique and think about the trajectory needed either to get someone out or help a teammate return, we moved into a mini tournament. With rule changes, bonus balls and plenty of team talks, the session flew by.

I hope all the children had a great time and are looking forward to next week. I wonder what it will be...
