Y1 Swanage Trip

Swanage Railway 🚂

Year 1 had a fantastic day out at Swanage Railway today. The weather could not have been better, and the children were full of excitement from the very start.

We began our journey at Norden station, where we boarded the train and travelled all the way to Swanage. The children loved watching the views go by and chatting with their friends along the way.

Once we arrived, we walked to the nearby park for a picnic lunch in the sunshine. After eating, the children enjoyed some time to play together in the park, which was a real highlight of the day. Mrs Murray, Mrs Harris and myself even went on the trampoline (Mrs Murray is a pro!!!)

On the way back, we had the chance to meet some of the train guards, who talked to the children about the train. During the return journey, the class took part in a spotting activity, looking out of the window to see what they could find in the countryside. There were cows, birds, sheep, and a castle spotted… and then came the giraffe on the sheet. Several children had a good look out of the windows—just in case!

The children were brilliantly behaved throughout the day, and it was lovely to see them enjoying themselves so much. It was a wonderful trip and a day we will all remember. Thanks for everyone’s help and support!
