Wacky Wheels Wednesday – A Wheely Wonderful Celebration!
This week, instead of Fitness Friday, we had Wacky Wheels Wednesday to celebrate Walk to School Week, and WOW were we blown away! The effort that the children (and adults!) have gone to to decorate their wheels has been quite remarkable. We had Christmas themes, natural materials, countless balloons, and all sorts of wonderful things used to decorate for this special edition of Scoot and Toot.

The playground was transformed into a dazzling display of creativity and colour as children proudly arrived with their specially decorated scooters, bikes, and balance bikes. From festive baubles and tinsel to leaves, twigs, and flowers, the imagination on show was truly inspiring. The excitement was palpable as children scooted and cycled around the course, showing off their decorated wheels whilst developing their balance, coordination, and fitness.

What made this event even more special was the visit from The Mayor, representatives from Dorset Council and Dorset Youth Council, who joined us in the afternoon to celebrate the children's fantastic efforts and the importance of active travel. The children were thrilled to share their creations and demonstrate their scooting skills, and the atmosphere was filled with pride, enthusiasm, and plenty of smiles. Whilst they were with us, they had the very tricky task of judging the competition.
Well done to all of the children for their efforts in this. A special well done to our winners- the judging panel said that they had a near impossible task of choosing and enjoyed the variety and creativeness of what they saw on display!

A huge thank you to all the families who supported their children in decorating their wheels – your creativity and effort made this event truly memorable. Thank you also to our School Parliament and Andrea for promoting the event.
What a fantastic way to celebrate Walk to School Week – we can't wait for the next Scoot and Toot!
