Celebrating Our Amazing Achievers!
We're thrilled to share some fantastic achievements from our pupils at Southill Primary School this week!
Out-of-School Achievements
We love hearing about what our pupils get up to beyond the school gates! This week, we've been celebrating some wonderful achievements from activities outside of school. Whether it's sporting triumphs, creative accomplishments, or community contributions, we're so proud of how our pupils are developing their talents and interests in their own time.
These out-of-school achievements are just as important as what happens in the classroom – they help our children build confidence, resilience, and discover new passions. If your child has achieved something special outside of school, please do let us know so we can celebrate with them!

Word Millionaire Achievement
A huge congratulations to our newest Word Millionaire! This incredible achievement shows outstanding dedication to reading and a real love of books. Reading a million words is no small feat – it takes commitment, perseverance, and countless hours lost in wonderful stories.
We're so proud of this achievement and hope it inspires other pupils to keep reading and working towards their own word count milestones. Every book you read brings you closer to becoming a Word Millionaire too!
Times Table Rockstars
Our Times Table Rockstars have been working incredibly hard, and it really shows! We've seen some brilliant progress in pupils' speed and accuracy with their times tables, which is such an important foundation for all their future maths learning.
The enthusiasm and competitive spirit our pupils bring to Times Table Rockstars is fantastic to see. Keep practising at home – even just a few minutes each day makes a real difference!
Walk to School Week
It's Walk to School Week, and we've had a brilliant response from our school community! Walking to school is a wonderful way to start the day – it helps children arrive alert and ready to learn, promotes healthy habits, and reduces congestion around our school gates.
Tomorrow's Wacky Wheels Competition – we're delighted to welcome the Mayor of Weymouth to Southill Primary! The Mayor will be judging our 'Wacky Wheels' competition, so make sure your scooters, bikes, and other wheels are decorated in the most creative and wacky way possible. We can't wait to see what you come up with!
Walking Bus on Thursday and Friday – our staff will be down at the shops on Thursday and Friday mornings to meet children and walk up to school together. This is a great opportunity for families who might not usually walk to give it a try in a safe, supervised group. Look out for our staff at the shops and join us for the walk up!
Let's make this Walk to School Week one to remember!
Well done to all our achievers – you make us proud every day!
Matt
